Personal Statement

I started my library career as a reference student assistant in college. I remain delighted with the challenges presented in connecting a researcher with the information they need—whether it is the individual student writing a paper or the more abstract connection that is made when we expand library holdings to meet the needs of our changing curriculum.

In my spare time, I am an avid consumer of junk fiction (mysteries and science fiction, mostly). I enjoy origami, digital photography, and hiking. During my fall of 2011 sabbatical, my husband and I took the trip of a lifetime, going around the world. We stopped in Chicago; Vancouver; Kona, Hawaii; Beijing; Istanbul; Cairo; Athens; Rome; Sansepolcro; Limerick and Dublin; and Edinburgh.
You can read more about the trip on this blog.
