CCL librarians are available to
lead research workshops/instruction sessions for your students
in the library LINC Center or in your classroom. You may want
us to focus on discipline specific search strategies, locating
specific types of materials (book reviews, older articles on
microfilm) or you may feel that your students need a refresher
course on the basics of keyword vs. subject heading searching
or how to choose appropriate databases to search.
Please email
or call Susan McClintock at 760-8382 for more information about
scheduling a class or fill out a library
instruction class form.
LIBRARIAN CONSULTATIONS
Librarians at CCL are available
as consultants when planning research assignments. Familiar
with the range of sources we have access to in print and electronically,
librarians can help structure a research project to ensure students
will be able successfully locate needed materials at CCL. If
consulted far enough in advance (months), we may also be able
to add items to our collection to support a research assignment.
Please email
or call Susan McClintock at 760-8382 for more information about
scheduling a consultation.
ACQUISITIONS - APPROVAL PLAN
Beginning in summer of 2004, the
library moved to a new system for acquiring books for the collection.
To learn more about this new approval plan and how you can be
involved in defining ordering criteria for your department,
please email
or call Ted Waller at 760-8381.
