Other papers

Senior papers in Psychology must have at least three copies turned in whose binding is paid for by the department.  One will be returned to each author, one to each advisor and one to be kept in the psychology department.

Additional copies of any paper may be requested for the student, her advisor, or advising committee members.  If not covered in the instructions above the student must pay for them.  The librarian will deliver to the advisor upon request.

Additional copies beyond the number specified are $10.00 each. Lettering will appear on the spine only for departmental and advisor copies.  Binding and text colors may be specified for personal copies (color choices here).

Personal items for binding

The library allows students and staff associated with the college include personal items with those we submit to our commercial binder.  The binder will rebind personal books and/or put a book cover on unbound papers.

Any material submitted will have be trimmed slightly around the edges. Notes on the extreme margins may be lost.  Hardback book covers must be removed if a book is rebound.  Paperback book covers may be saved and pasted onto the front or back or included as pages of the new volume.  If a cover is pasted onto the front of the new volume, the reverse side of that cover will be lost.  If you are binding a manuscript, an extra ½ inch margin on the left hand side will center the manuscript within the new cover.  The library cannot accept brittle material as this requires special preservation processes before it can be bound.  To test for brittleness fold the paper at the corner, if the folded piece breaks off the paper is brittle.   If not a thesis, specify the title as you want it to appear and its location (front and/or spine).
