New York
Almost every year students travel to the Big Apple to the world famous Garment District. For five days during January, before classes begin, students tour factories, designer showrooms, exhibits and more.

Atlanta
Each October, January or April, students can work as production assistants for the fashion shows at the Atlanta Merchandise Mart. You meet buyers and manufacturers from all across the United States.

Study Abroad
Meredith provides a variety of study abroad opportunities for its students. For more information on traveling abroad, visit http://www.meredith.edu/abroad/.

Paris
Each summer, students have the opportunity to study and earn six hours of credit in Paris, France. For one month, students live in apartments in the famous Latin Quarter of Paris and take two fashion courses that can be used to satisfy graduation requirements.

Undergraduate Research Program
Undergraduate research at Meredith offers direction and support for students who are ready to be original, to push at the boundaries of the classroom and the textbook, and to connect with others who share their interests. It is open to students in all disciplines and academic programs. Programs include summer stipend, travel grants, research grants and an on-campus conference, Celebrating Student Achievement Day. Student Organizations

Meredith Fashion Association
Provides for the professional development of fashion merchandising and design students at Meredith College and those involved in the Cooperating Raleigh Colleges program. Membership is open to students majoring and minoring in clothing and fashion merchandising and those who have a general interest in the major. Meredith Association of Family and Consumer Sciences
A national professional organization open to students majoring in any area of human environmental sciences. For more information, contact Jody Roubanis, assistant professor of human environmental sciences, at (919) 760-2897 or roubanis@meredith.edu.

Kappa Omicron Nu
Kappa Omicron Nu is a national honor society for students seeking a major in the human environmental sciences department at Meredith College. Students are chosen from the sophomore, junior and senior classes for this honor. To be eligible for membership, a student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (overall and at Meredith) and be in the upper 25% of her class, have declared a major (first and second majors) in one of the five majors in the Department of Human Environmental Sciences, have completed 45 semester hours and have shown evidence of superior personal qualities and leadership potential.
