Department of Human Environmental Sciences
The Meredith College Department of Human Environmental Sciences programs provide students with the tools to improve the quality of life for families and individuals.
Our programs emphasize global awareness, improvement of the quality of life for individuals, families and society, and honing skills to help you communicate, lead, create, collaborate, think critically and make ethical professional decisions.
Meredith’s Department of Human Environmental Sciences offers applied science programs in five areas:
- Child Development
- Family & Consumer Sciences
- Fashion Design/Merchandising
- Foods & Nutrition
- Interior Design
Each major may be combined with teacher licensure.
Our program offers you numerous opportunities to conduct undergraduate research, study abroad and learn through civic engagement.
We also offer a coeducational Master of Science in nutrition and Dietetic Internship programs.
