Meredith College is offering a workshop to address these and other concerns. We’ll give you practical information to help you overcome your roadblocks and move toward your goal of earning a graduate degree. Workshop Descriptions
Demystifying the Application Process
In this session, experienced graduate school staff will discuss the various parts of a graduate school application and the best ways to present yourself on paper. They’ll cover the application, resume, letters of recommendation, essay or professional goals statement, and requesting official transcripts. Examples of what admissions committees look for will be shared, along with how and how not to complete various pieces of your application.
Preparing for Graduate Admissions Tests
This session will provide an overview of standardized tests commonly required for graduate admissions, including the GMAT, GRE and MAT. Strategies covered will include preparing a timeline for study, scheduling and taking the test, and interpreting your test scores. Financing Your Graduate Education
Knowledgeable financial assistance staff will discuss types of loans (federal, alternative/private) and scholarships. They’ll review the marketplace for average program costs and make comparisons, as well as cover basic criteria for receiving assistance, including credit hours.
Balancing Graduate School with Work/Life Demands
Graduate school staff and current graduate students and/or recent graduate school alumni will share thoughts about how to manage attending graduate school while working full time and having a family. They’ll discuss the average hours of study time per week recommended for graduate school and finding ways to fit in study time.
