Why Meredith’s Master of Education Program?

Meredith’s Master of Education program offers many competitive advantages—small classes taught by dedicated faculty, convenient scheduling from which to choose three specialized tracks—which means students earn a quality education that advances their unique professional and personal goals.

Individual Attention

With an average class size of 10 students, Meredith’s education faculty and graduate school staff are able to get to know and support students as individuals. This personal touch, combined with the program’s overarching emphasis on academic quality and relevance, means Meredith M.Ed. graduates develop the confidence and knowledge that prepares them to go from our classrooms to their own classrooms.

Renowned Education Faculty

Meredith’s Department of Education faculty serves in leadership roles on the boards of national, state and local education organizations. These talented educators bring a variety of interests and specialties to their classrooms, which contribute to an interactive and well-rounded program. Our graduate faculty members are actively involved in research, assessment and partnerships with public, private and charter schools.

Competitive Program and Tuition

We pride ourselves on having a competitive program and competitive tuition with area colleges and universities. Please check us out online.

Convenient Scheduling

During the academic year, classes are held in the late afternoons and evenings to coordinate with the schedule of working teachers. Faculty and staff work to accommodate graduate students juggling the demands of the challenging curriculum with their career and personal responsibilities.

Specialized Tracks

Meredith M.Ed. students select the focus of their degree from three concentrations: reading, English as a Second Language (ESL) and elementary education. Add-on licensure is also available in the areas of reading and ESL. Current teachers interested in renewing a teaching license may take master’s level course work as a non-degree student.

Affording a Master’s Degree

We are competitive with area colleges and universities.

Tuition Assistance—Working North Carolina teachers can receive a $200 tuition credit for each three-credit course they enroll in at Meredith. To obtain information on current tuition and fees, click here .

Scholarships—Martin Marietta Scholarships are open to degree-seeking or licensure-only students who demonstrate the following: financial need, academic success and commitment to teaching. In accordance with Martin Marietta guidelines, priority is given to students whose specialty is teaching ESL.
