Frequently Asked Questions
Is your program accredited?
Yes! Meredith College’s MBA program is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Do you have men in your MBA program?
Yes! Graduate programs at Meredith are for both women and men. Generally male students make up about 25% of the MBA student body.
Do I need to take the GMAT to apply?
Yes, we require that all applicants submit a GMAT score as a part of their application, along with official transcripts, current resume, essay responses, recommendations, and application form.
What is the required GMAT score?
The GMAT is one of several important pieces of a comprehensive package that is reviewed by the admissions committee. Set your sights on thorough preparation for the test, because that is the key for you to achieve your highest score and to submit your best application!
Can I get my MBA if I don’t have an undergraduate degree in business?
Absolutely! Over 60% of our students have undergraduate degrees in disciplines besides business, including liberal arts, biology, and communications.
How long will it take for me to complete the program?
That depends upon which coursework you may have already completed as an undergraduate or graduate student. Many students who have undergraduate degrees in business or accounting disciplines finish the program in 30 hours. Students needing a base of business knowledge take some additional courses called Foundations.
What are Foundations courses?
These courses are high impact delivery of the base of knowledge that you will need to succeed in the MBA courses. All students in these classes already have an undergraduate degree and are working toward achieving their MBA.
Do I need to wait until I’m done with my Foundations courses to apply?
No! The admissions committee can review your application before these are complete. You may complete the Foundations coursework knowing that you have been accepted as a degree-seeker to the program.
Do you have financial aid and scholarships?
Yes. We have a full service Financial Assistance office that can help you with getting Federal loans for your graduate education. You will need to fill out the FAFSA to determine the assistance that is available for you. We also have Wyford and Harris Scholarships available for strong program applicants.
Do you have job placement when I’m done?
Since our program is a part-time, evening program for students who are already employed, we provide customized career services that include job placement. We also have great relationships with employers that can help you if you want to explore other options. Our Career Center provides resources and services to help you to advance within your current company or to assist you in a career change.
