Master of Business Administration Application Checklist
All applications for admission to the Master of Business Administration program are considered ready for review after the materials listed below have been submitted to the John E. Weems Graduate School:
- Download an Application (.pdf format) and submit with non-refundable $50 application fee or apply online.
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, in sealed envelopes with institution's seal over the flap. In addition, World Education Services (WES) translations for international transcripts, mailed directly from WES, Inc.
- Two completed recommendation forms, in sealed envelopes, from people with knowledge of the applicant's professional work or ability
- Official report of scores of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), mailed directly from the Educational Testing Service
- Resume or C.V. (Applicants are required to have a minimum of two years post-baccalaureate professional work experience. This policy does not apply to students in the BS/MBA option for Accounting or may be waived by the Dean of the School of Business as deemed appropriate.)
- Responses to essay questions
Once a complete application has been received, the applicant may be contacted to schedule an interview.
Admissions Requirements
Applicants must have successfully completed a bachelor degree from a regionally accredited four-year institution. Each applicant is evaluated by an admissions committee on the basis of their baccalaureate-level preparation, undergraduate academic record, letters of reference, and other criteria established by the specific departments.
International Applicant Requirements
International applicants must also submit World Education Services (WES) translations for international transcripts, mailed directly from WES (www.wes.org) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores, mailed directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Scores must not be over one year old, unless the student has been enrolled full-time in an accredited American college or university in the interim. Except in cases where English is their native language, international applicants must submit satisfactory scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The TOEFL Bulletin of Information is available at American embassies and consulates, or can be obtained by writing: TOEFL, CN 6155, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6155.
International students must also present copies of the following forms to the Graduate Studies Office: passport; visa*; Arrival/Departure Record if applicable; I-20 ID if applicable; Alien Registration Number (permanent resident only); Financial statement showing resources for a two year period; and proof of health insurance
*Admission of foreign students who require an F-1 visa will be conditional until proper visa is obtained. The College will assist them in the preparation of a new I-20 form, if applicable. Students must be enrolled in a degree program to be eligible for an I-20. Applicants holding F-1 visas must list the school or college they have permission to attend, and submit a copy of their current I-20 form.
Post-Baccalaureate Study
A student with a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university may enroll in 500-level courses only without being fully admitted to the MBA program.
Persons who apply for post-baccalaureate study must submit a post-baccalaureate application form and non-refundable $25 fee, a current resume, and have official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, in sealed envelopes with institution's seal over the flap, sent directly from the college or university to the John E. Weems Graduate School.
