All applications for admission to the Dietetic Internship program are considered ready for review after the materials listed below have been submitted to:

All information must be word processed or typed. Application materials should be complete and submitted in one envelope.
1. Letter of Application
A 1-2 page typed letter (no more than 2 pages) from the applicant addressed to the director of the dietetic internship stating: reasons for choosing dietetics as a career; reasons for applying to the Dietetic Internship at Meredith College; preparation for the Dietetic Internship through any work and leadership experience; educational and professional goals; and additional pertinent personal information you wish to share.
2. Supervised Practice Application
A completed ADA Supervised Practice Program Application (most recent version). You can download the application here in Microsoft Word format or request a disk from the ADA by calling 800-877-1600 or visiting the ADA Website.
3. Official Transcripts
Official transcript(s) from all accredited colleges or universities previously attended, with a minimum undergraduate grade-point average of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale) for at least the final 60 hours of course work completed.
4. Declaration of Intent to Complete Degree or Verification Statement
A valid Declaration of Intent to Complete Degree or Verification Statement signed by the applicant and the director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) at your college or university. A vaild Verification Statement stating successful completion of an American Dietetic Association approved Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) must be submitted before the applicant can enter the internship.
5. Recommendations
Three completed recommendations from professionals who are able to evaluate the applicant?s professional potential and character: one from a professor in foods and nutrition or related area, one from the program director of your Didactic Program in Dietetics, and one from an employer or supervisor. References will only be accepted if they contain original signatures on the recommendation forms (ADA standardized form) and on the seal of the envelopes.

6. Application Fee
A non-refundable application fee of $50.00, payable by check made out to Meredith College.
7. TOEFL scores, for international students only

Additional Application Information:
1. Application materials will not be returned and incomplete application packets will not be considered.
2. GRE scores may be submitted but are not required.
3. Applicants must participate in the computer matching process.
4. Applications are evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Overall and DPD GPA, grades for coursework in the professional area, sciences, behavioral & social sciences, and communication courses.
- Quality of recommendation letters.
- Quality of personal letter/statement.
- Quality and quantity of work and volunteer experience in the field.
- Other extracurricular & volunteer activities, leadership, and honors/awards.
5. Some applicants may be requested to participate in telephone interviews.
