“I attended Tulane University immediately after high school in 1999, but family finances, even with financial aid awards, impacted my ability to continue beyond my first semester. I transferred to Meredith College after spending several years in Washington, D.C. working at a major newspaper as well as serving as an intern for a United States Congressman. While I was grateful for these opportunities, without further education, I knew that future career choices would be limited.
 
My husband and I moved to North Carolina to take advantage of the beautiful scenery, lower cost of living and friendly neighbors. But what has been truly wonderful is that I am able to fulfill my dream of attending college full time. Thanks to significant financial aid, I am finally able to complete my education.
 
Meredith is one of the most supportive educational communities I have ever belonged to. I credit the amazing faculty, welcoming students, and strong academic atmosphere with helping me to achieve my current 4.0 grade point average. My grandmother’s dream is to see me complete my education—I will be the first in my family to receive a college degree.”
