This prestigious scholarship is the highest honor available to freshmen entering Meredith College. The full, four-year, merit-based scholarship is awarded based on superior academic achievement, intellectual promise and leadership ability.
As long as Meredith Legacy Scholars remain full-time students and maintain a minimum quality point ratio of 3.30 on all courses, they receive:
Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in the life of the College and to take advantage of all opportunities while developing a lifelong commitment to Meredith College.
Applicants selected to interview for the Meredith College Legacy Scholarship are choosen from the Honors applicant pool.
The criteria for awarding the scholarship are rigorous and selective. Selection criteria include superior standardized test scores (SAT/ACT); an unweighted high school GPA of 3.8 and above, based on a 4.0 grading scale; superlative leadership in high school and the community; and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Selected applicants will interview during scholars weekend (late February) with faculty, administrators and the President of Meredith.
