This award provides funding for a three year standard award to support a Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) Site program at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology (SDSM&T) entitled, "SDSM&T RET Site: Inspiring Educators in Rural America through Research," under the direction of Dr. Robb M. Winter. This program will provide ten sixth through twelfth grade teachers (RET Research Assistants) the opportunity to work side-by-side with undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty mentors in the exciting enterprise of research in areas such as materials science and engineering, biology, and environmental science.
