Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry
The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in chemistry is designed for the student who wants to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering or environmental engineering from North Carolina State University.
Degree Requirements:
Forty-five hours are required to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry. Thirty-two hours of core curriculum courses, seven hours of chemistry courses above the 100 level, including CHE 490 and six elective hours above the 100 level chosen from biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics are required.
Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics:
The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in mathematics is designed for the student who wants to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or industrial engineering from North Carolina State University.
Degree Requirements:
Thirty-two hours are required to receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. Seventeen hours of core curriculum courses, nine hours of mathematics electives above the 100 level, MAT 490 Senior Seminar and one course from the following are required:
- MAT 321 Modern Abstract Algebra
- MAT 410 Advanced Calculus
- MAT 415 Topics in Analysis
- MAT 425 Topics in Algebra
- MAT 434 Topics in Geometry and Topology
