8. NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING CULTURE requirement. At least one of the courses taken in the other seven categories must focus on a non-English speaking culture or student must selecct an additional course to satisfy this requirement at NCSU.
This requirement would be satisfied by (3), the VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS or HISTORY courses.

9. NC State College of Engineering "Other General Education Requirements"
FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY requirement for NCSU College of Engineering:
- May be satisfied by two years of the same language in high school with B grades or better, each year.
- May be satisfied by three years of the same language in high school with C grades or better, each year.
- May be satisfied by taking an intermediate level language at Meredith (= to FL 201 at NCSU).
PHYSICAL EDUCATION requirements for NCSU:
- Meredith College's HED 220 plus one PED activity course will be combined to satsify the NCSU "Fitness & Wellness Elective" requirement (listed as PE 10* in the NCSU curricula). Any second PED activity course from Meredith Collge will satisfy the additionally required "Physical Education Elective" at NCSU (listed as PE *** in the NCSU curricula).
FRESHMEN ENGLISH requirement for NCSU:
- The equivalent to NCSU's ENG 101 can be satisfied by successfully completing Meredith College's ENG 111 and two WI (Writing Intensive) courses but at least one of the two WI courses cannot be an ENG course. One of the two WI courses at Meredith College could overlap the "Literature" requirement under the Humanities/SOcial Science Electives at NC State and also satisfy the required "Literature" at Meredith College. All three courses are taken at Meredith College.
CALCULUS III requirement for NCSU:
- NCSU's MA 242 requirement may be satisfied at Meredith College by combining MAT 313 and the supplement, MAT 943.
