Captains Blank Pride, Move to Finals
USA South Women's Soccer Semifinals - Nov. 6
Martinsville, Va. - It took just five minutes and 20 seconds for second seeded Christopher Newport to score what would be the game-winner over #3 Greensboro in the second USA South Tournament semifinal. Christopher Newport finished with the 2-0 win.

Sam Ciaravino assisted Tiffany Van Decker on the first goal of the game before the duo hooked up again just seven minutes later for Van Decker to score the Captains’ second goal. Christopher Newport held the 2-0 lead at halftime.

Greensboro stepped up ball possession in the second half but was able to only produce one shot on goal.

Christopher Newport goalkeeper Dineen Sampson finished with five saves while Greensboro’s Katie Allegro made four stops.

The Captains advance to face fifth seeded Methodist in the USA South Tournament Championship on Saturday at 2 pm.
