Soccer Handles the Panthers, Advance to USA South Semifinals |

Raleigh, N.C. – The Meredith soccer team hosted Ferrum in the USA South Athletic Conference quarterfinals on Tuesday night. The #1 seeded Avenging Angels took the game winning 7-2 and move to the USA South Semifinals in Martinsville, Va. on Friday at noon to take on #5 Methodist.
Meredith got on the board early scoring within the first two minutes on a goal by Kristy Knight assisted by Maggie Hart. Knight then scored the second goal on a double assist from Alex Calvert and Emmy Errante. Calvert scored the third goal on an assist from Knight. Hart scored the fourth goal assisted from Hannah Worley. Calvert finished the first half scoring on an unassisted goal. Meredith took the 5-0 lead into halftime.
Knight and Carrie Talbert finished the scoring for the Avenging Angels pushing in two more goals in the second half. Ferrum scored two late goals to bring the game to a 7-2 final.
Meredith will play #5 Methodist at noon on Friday in the USA South Semifinals at noon.
