Professor of Art History Beth Mulvaney presented the 2013 J. Bernard Schultz Endowed Lecture in Art History at West Virginia State University on Thursday, February 7.
The J. Bernard Schultz Lecture Series in Art History was endowed in the College of Creative Arts in 2004 by anonymous donors. The lecture series honors former College of Creative Arts Dean Bernie Schultz, who also is professor of art history in the School of Art & Design and director of education and external affairs for the Art Museum of WVU.
Mulvaney’s lecture, “Elevated Visions: Nuns and Cittadini at Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Venice” brought together research she has conducted on this important church, its miracle-working panel, and the Clarissan nuns who were charged with caring for it.
