FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY, and STAFF:
On behalf of the Meredith College Diversity Council, here’s an opportunity for receiving a Diversity Grant:
Diversity Grants, Deadline 3/11/2013
The Meredith College Diversity Council announces the opportunity for faculty, students, and staff to apply for grants that help celebrate the diversity of the campus. Consistent with Meredith’s Strategic Plan, grants may be in the form of research, programs, or other ways to ensure that Meredith is a welcoming environment for all members of our community. The Meredith College Diversity Council is committed to creating and improving opportunities to make our campus a more welcoming environment.
Grants will typically be in the range of $500-$1,500, and an application for the funds must be received by Monday, March 11, 2013. The application for the Diversity Project Grant Program is available at http://www.meredith.edu/diversity/synopsis.htm - Grant Application and Outcomes Report - Diversity Grant March 2013 . The Diversity Council will review the grant proposals and announce recipients by mid-April. Projects can be for this spring, this summer, or for next fall.
We ask that all grant requests include:
• A statement of exactly what you aim to do, including pertinent details about time, space, location, and duration.
• A statement about how this diversity project may benefit the learning and learning environment at Meredith and how it relates to the Meredith College Strategic Plan. Please pay particular attention to the Quality of Life goals 1.1 and 1.4.
• A statement that explains other sources of funds you have or expect to have in support of this research or project.
• Please communicate with appropriate faculty, students and staff of your project intent (e.g.; dean, department chair, etc.)
Previous successful grants include art-based projects, the international film festival, the Interdisciplinary Speaker Series, support for Disability Awareness activities, and others. Please feel free to contact Danny Green, Chair at 760-8026, or any of the Diversity Council members for additional information about the grants. We look forward to receiving your requests.
