Angels for the Community is hosting a panel called "Faces of Education" on Wednesday, November 14 from 7-8 pm in Ledford 101. The panel is designed to educate Meredith women about some of the obstacles that can hinder an individual's ability to obtain a quality education.
Three speakers will be at the panel:
• Kathleen Griffin, of the Literacy Council of Wake County. She is the adult education
coordinator for ESL and Adult Basic Education.
• Jennifer Falco, who is a preschool teacher at Raleigh Rescue Mission. She will be
discussing the psychosocial and developmental implications of children who lack security
and a structured environment.
• Leslie Pifer is a student here at Meredith. She is a senior International Studies major, and she volunteers at the Seeds of Hope Homework Initiative. She will be representing the students with whom she works with and talking about how small, grassroots organizations can make a big impact on local community members who need them.
Doors open at 6:30pm and light refreshments will be offered following the panel.
