posted: October 24, 2013
With the end of the regular season drawing near, the Meredith College volleyball team remains atop the USA South’s North division standings with a conference record of 13-1. The Avenging Angels posted their 13th consecutive victory Wednesday, Oct. 23, with a 3-1 win over N.C. Wesleyan on Senior Night. Senior setter Clarke Glendenning tallied her 1500th career assist in the win.
Cross-town rival William Peace University remains in third in the North with a league record of 8-4. Meredith won the first pairing in a 3-1 thriller earlier this month in Weatherspoon Gymnasium. The teams are slated to meet again Wednesday, Oct. 30 on the campus of WPU. Because of space limitations, the Pacers will distribute tickets for admission to the 7 p.m. volleyball match. NCAA rules provide a designated allotment of tickets to the team, and the remaining tickets will be distributed to Meredith Avenging Angels in a Ticket Bonanza! Monday, Oct. 28.
Meredith athletics will issue vouchers on a first-come-first-served basis Monday between 2 and 5 p.m. in Weatherspoon. Vouchers can be exchanged for a ticket on Wednesday, Oct. 30, anytime 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in Weatherspoon 17. A valid cam card is required to receive both a voucher and ticket.
Follow the game live via the Meredith Sports Network as Meredith’s Anna Wiggins broadcasts the game from the sidelines. Live stats will also be provided for fans unable to secure a ticket. Click here to follow the match.
