The Meredith College basketball team plays on their home hardwood Friday, Dec. 12, for the first time this season. With nearly three weeks since their last contest, the Avenging Angels are eager to get back in action.

While Meredith has played just three games thus far, the Randolph WildCats enter Friday's non-conference game with a 6-1 record. The Avenging Angels recorded a loss in each of their first three games but hope for a strong showing in Weatherspoon Gymnasium tomorrow night.

Kim Hinton and Jessi Hayes lead the offensive efforts for Meredith with both players averaging double-figures, and Danielle Lee and Raven Gregory support the rebounding efforts inside. Rookies Chandler Hines and Stephanie Girard logged double-digit minutes over the course of the first three games, and Ashley Hudson posted two starts for the Angels thus far.

Laquetta Hairston returns as a junior point guard and averages 2.3 assists for Meredith early this season. Senior teammate Brittaney Rice gives the team a lift off the bench with her 8.0 points per game and tenacious defense.

Local fans are encouraged to help fill the stands to support the Angels since most students depart campus by Thursday for winter break.
