Phyllis Galembo, professor of photography at the University at Albany-SUNY, will speak about her 25+ years journey making portraits documenting the role of ritual and masquerade in African and Afro-Atlantic cultures. The lecture will be held February 12, at 7 p.m. in Jones Auditorium.
Her works, which are ethnographic records as well stunningly beautiful images of creative expressions of belief, are on view at the Frankie G. Weems Art Gallery in the Gaddy-Hamrick Art Center through March 23. Information: firstname.lastname@example.org.
