Lori Brown joined the Meredith College community in 1992. Brown was eager to participate in a program with a strong emphasis on teaching. Completing her degrees across the country (all in Sociology). Dr. Brown earned a B.S. at the University of Louisville, an M.A. at Temple University in Philadelphia, and her Ph.D. at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Her interests in the field of Sociology are quite varied as reflected in the courses she teaches regularly:Population Dynamics, Human Sexuality, Race and Ethic Relations and now courses in Criminology like Corrections, The Color of Crime, Juvenile Delinquency and Criminology. Dr. Brown’s dissertation was on the topic of infant mortality in the state of Indiana and she has done research in the areas of homeschooling and race relations.
