- Written Reflection in Teacher Education--Dr. Roberts studies autobiographical tools to enhance teacher's reflection on practice in an effort to supportgrowth and retention
- Portfolio Assessment--Dr. Roberts studies the ways in which alternative assessments such as portfolios affect curricular frames, particularlyPaideia classes and Socratically-based seminar discussions
- Emerging Issues and Trends in English Education--Dr. Roberts explores best practice and curricular reform efforts related to the teaching of English.
Kelly Morris Roberts is an Associate Professor of English and Program Coordinator for 6-9 and 9-12 English licensure for prospective teachers at Meredith College, Raleigh, NC. Her research interests include written reflections of pre-service and in-service teachers, portfolio assessment, AIG education, teacher education,Paideia instruction and support for beginning teachers. She currently serves on the board of the NC English Teachers Association. Dr. Roberts has also served as director of the Meredith Study Abroad Program in Belize in summer 2013, where students also promoted literacy through working in a private k-8 school in Cahal Pech, Belize. Dr. Roberts'most recent publication includes “How Do We Evaluate Reflective Practice? First Define It,”an article published through the American Association of School Administrators.
