Currently Director of Meredith Mathematics and Science Institutes, Joyner was a preschool director and has taught in elementary and middle schools, high school English for adult education, and pre-service mathematics methods courses. She has co-directed seven National Science Foundation grants and four Mathematics-Science Partnership grants. Joyner is the co-author of Dynamic Classroom Assessment (secondary and elementary books), Thinking Algebraically with Numbers and Shapes (gr. 1-3 series), and INFORMative Assessment, K-6, and INFORMative Assessment, Middle and High School (in press) as well as numerous articles. She chaired the PreK -2 writing group for Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.
