- Given its transformative powers, she is also passionate about studying abroad and, in particular, Meredith’s Sansepolcro program in Tuscany, Italy.
Catherine Rodgers has been a member of the Theatre faculty at Meredith since 1988. Her honors/awards include: two Excellence in Direction awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for After the Fall (2006) and Intimate Apparel (2011); the Harry and Marion Eberly Faculty Development Award (1999); the Pauline Davis Perry Award for Artistic Achievement (2007); and, the North Carolina Theatre Conference Herman Middleton Distinguished Service Award in 2011 for her contributions to theatre education in North Carolina. She has directed more than 35 productions for Meredith Ensemble Theatre, most recently, A Little Night Music and Step on a Crack. Catherine is a proud member of the North Carolina Theatre Conference as a past president of their executive board. She has acted and/or directed professionally at Deep Dish Theatre, Stillwater Theatre, Burning Coal Theatre Company, North Carolina Theatre, Raleigh Little Theatre and Theatre in the Park.
Master of Fine Arts (1983) in Acting/Directing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro;
Master of Arts (1978) in Speech Communication & Theatre Arts from Wake Forest University;
Bachelor of Arts (1976) in Religion & American Civilization from Meredith College.
