Areas of Expertise

  • Promote Parent Giving to the College through an annual Parents Project, led by the Parents Council (a small group of parents who serve as advisors, ambassadors, and leadership donors).
  • Work with all parents of current students and recent graduates through a new Parents Association and provide an eNewsletter several times a year.
  • Help parents establish scholarships and other gifts in honor of their daughters at Graduation and other times.

As an alumna and former faculty, Amanda loves being back at Meredith in her new role in Institutional Advancement.    She is a bilingual professional experienced in a wide array of program creation and direction, fundraising, and various roles in higher education.   She has worked as a faculty member and program director for foreign language at major research universities, where she won the University Teaching Award.  Her publications include research in the top national journal and an Advanced Writing textbook.   In the academic publishing industry, she has worked in sales/marketing and as a consultant for developing new content and products.   She has also has led several fundraising campaigns and created new programming for adults for non-profits.    Amanda has lived and worked in Paris, France as well as Toronto, Canada before returning not just to the US but to NC.
