Dance and Theatre
Through Meredith’s Department of Dance and Theatre you will find performance opportunities beginning in the freshman year. You’ll work with faculty who are professional dancers, actors, choreographers, designers and directors.
Academic Programs
Meredith offers undergraduate degrees in dance studies and theatre. Each major has electives that can be tailored to meet a variety of professional goals. As a dance studies major, you can also choose a NC K-12 license in dance education. Theatre majors can also add a K–12 licensure. Minors in dance and theatre are also available.
Performance Opportunities
Meredith’s varied performance opportunities include annual dance concerts and main stage theatre productions, plus several studio productions in each program. You don’t have to major in dance or theatre to participate—auditions for both Meredith Dance Theatre and Meredith Ensemble Theatre productions are open to all Meredith students.
Community Involvement
Meredith has close connections with the Raleigh/Durham, NC artistic community. The department also regularly sponsors opportunities for the campus and the Raleigh community to experience dance and theatre by attending productions or taking community classes. Visit our news and events page for information on current options.
