Jean Jackson, A.B., A.M., Ph.D.

Jean Jackson is an alumna of Meredith College. She also holds an A.M. and Ph.D. in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Jackson is a graduate of the Institute of Educational Management, Harvard University.
A member of the Meredith faculty since 1983, Jackson teaches British Romantic poetry and American literature. She also speaks frequently on leadership topics at campus and professional meetings; serves as a member of the Senior Management Team, SACS Leadership Team, the Campus Technology Committee and the Committee on Institutional Effectiveness; advises the Honor Council Review Board and Silver Shield (honorary leadership society); and chairs the Lillian Parker Wallace Lecture Fund.
Jackson is a member of the American Association of Higher Education, American College Personnel Association, Association of Governing Boards, Society for College and University Planning, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Southern Association for College Student Affairs, Women Administrators of North Carolina Higher Education (Board) and North Carolina College Personnel Association. She has received the Laura Harrill Presidential Award, Pauline Davis Perry FAME Award for Excellence in Teaching, Meredith Alumna Award, and attained membership in the Academy of Women (YWCA of the Greater Triangle) for her contributions to education. Jackson also directs the faculty/staff performance of “Alice in Wonderland” every four years.
