Cooperative Education is education based upon a cooperative arrangement between Meredith College, students and employers. A Co-op is designed to integrate academic study with paid career-related job experiences.

• Earn while you learn
• Experience a semester/summer long job.
• Receive 1 to 4 credit(s) through COE 302 or COE 403 (150 hours/semester for each credit hour)
• Build your resume and contacts in your field of interests
  

Eligibility:

• May work full-time, part-time or only during the summer.
• Must be at least a sophomore with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher.
• Graduate students must have successfully completed at least three hours at Meredith.
• A total of 2 co-op experiences during your undergraduate/graduate studies.

• Apply for positions on CareerLink or
• Create your own co-op or
• Turn current, paid, career-related position into a co-op

Jobs That Qualify for Co-op Credit:

• Must relate to your career goals and/or major
• Must provide meaningful and challenging learning experiences in an area related to one of Meredith’s curriculum areas.
• Employer must be willing to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with Meredith.
• Paid by the employer.
  

Specific Academic Requirements for Co-op Education:

• You are responsible for registering for co-op credit after meeting with the Co-op Coordinator.
• Within two weeks of employment you must submit to the Co-op Coordinator a resume, job description, Measurable Learning Objectives, and the Employer/College Agreement form.
• Submit a weekly journal.
• Write a 5–10 page reflection paper to be submitted at the end of the semester.
• Attend up to 2–5 meetings with the class or Co-op Coordinator during the semester.
• Complete a co-op student evaluation and have your employer complete midterm and end of semester evaluations.
