Career Center services revolve around our belief that career exploration and self discovery is a lifelong process. Our services promote active participation by the students and alumnae we serve. It is our desire that those we work with will translate the knowledge about themselves into career plans that are meaningful, satisfying, and congruent with their education, life experiences, values, and goals.
Career Counseling
Working one-on-one with a career counselor can help you reach your career goals. Meet with us to
discuss a range of topics:
- Choosing a major
- Exploring careers that match your background
- Gaining an internship or co-op experience
- Searching for a full time job
- Networking
- Creating documents such as resumes and letters
- Preparing and practicing for interviews
- Planning and preparing for graduate school
- Managing your career and moving through transitions

Career Planning Seminars
Make career planning a priority! Register for these classes offered by the Career Center:
- CPS 101 for freshmen and sophomores. Investigate your choices for major study
and career fields. This one-hour credit, pass/fail course is offered during the first half of the
spring semester.
Instructor: Amy Losordo, Assistant Director, Career Development - CPS 301 for juniors and seniors. Relate your chosen academic majors to career
fields and uses skill-building activities for resume writing, interviewing and specific job search
strategies. This one-hour credit, pass/fail course is offered during the first half of the fall
semester.
Instructor: Dana Sumner, Associate Director, Employer Relations
Workshops and Events
Informational and "how to" workshops offered on topics such as choosing a major and exploring
careers, resume and letter writing, interviewing, job searching, networking and graduate school.
Most workshop topics can be discussed in one-on-one career counseling sessions.
Events such as the networking event, mock interviews, and career panels allow students to practice and improve their skills, gain relevant information, and build their network.

Job Search
Completing a strategic job search will encompass a variety of our services. These may include career
planning, employer and company research, resume and letter creation, interviewing preparation,
networking contacts, and online resources, just to name a few. Schedule an appointment to get
