Sizzlin’ September Concert Featuring We The Kings September 14

We the KingsMeredith College will feature We the Kings as the headliner of the College’s 2012 “Sizzlin’ September” concert on Friday, Sept. 14. D.VELOPED will open the show.

We the Kings is an American pop punk band formed in 2005 from Bradenton, Florida, currently signed to record label S-Curve Records. The group released their self-titled full-length debut album in 2007, which peaked at No. 151 on the “Billboard” 200. Their second full-length album, ''Smile Kid,'' was released in December 2009, and the band has since completed a variety of tours.

The band released a new album in July 2011 titled “Sunshine State of Mind,” achieving major commercial success. They have toured extensively, playing in music festivals as well as supporting other acts. We the Kings also host their own miniature series of webisodes, "The King's Carriage," detailing life on their tour bus.

D.VELOPED is a North Carolina based producer and remixer who has redefined the mashup scene through the practice of "micro-sampling". His music has become part of an ever-growing genre which incorporates iconic samples combined with multi-instrumental tracks. He has been identified as one of the top artists in his genre and proven by the blogosphere and college music scene. D.VELOPED has created his own formula for a different style of mashup remixing. By using key influences ranging from soulful 70s, nostalgic 90s, and decades of hip hop, his live show incorporates a wheel of musical compositions and surprising elements.

The show is the eighth annual “Sizzlin’ September” concert to be held at Meredith. The concert is sponsored by the Meredith College Campus Activities Board.
