Welcome to Campus Connections: the newsletter for Meredith faculty and staff. 

 

We hope the new name reflects the important role Meredith faculty and staff play in connecting the College to the community on campus and beyond. We also hope this newsletter will build stronger connections between Meredith employees.

 

This publication is a revamp of In A Nutshell; the changes are a result of the input you provided through a readership survey conducted last spring. More than 100 faculty and staff participated in the survey.

 

According to the survey, Meredith employees would like to receive news in a more timely and concise format. Campus Connections will be published twice each month, except in December.

 

Campus Connections also features shorter articles and more photos than In A Nutshell. Employees will be able to get campus news quickly, by scanning the headlines or reading full articles.

 

The new format allows faculty and staff members to contribute items for inclusion in the newsletter. A regular feature will be “From the President’s Desk,” in which President Maureen Hartford will share news. You’ll also notice in this issue articles written by Jane Mitchell, from Institutional Advancement, and Grace Sugg from Admissions.

 

New columns focusing on faculty/staff accomplishments and upcoming events will also be included in each issue. Thanks to everyone who submitted items for this inaugural issue.

 

A call for submissions will be sent each month via emp_all and Enews. Items will be included as space allows. Story ideas are also welcome. Submit articles or news you’d like to share with the campus community by emailing me at allenme@meredith.edu. Submissions for the next issue are due on October 12.
