Meredith College was well represented in the Raleigh Public Relations Society’s 2011 Sir Walter Raleigh Awards for Excellence in Communication. The Meredith College Department of Marketing earned five awards, including a Best in Division, in the competition.
Meredith’s MBA Viewbook won gold in the guidebook category, and took Best in Division for the publications division. This project was a revamp of the primary recruitment publication for Meredith’s MBA program. The new publication highlights the benefits and strengths of the MBA program, and emphasizes Meredith’s Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation.
Meredith Magazine won a Gold award in the publications division magazine category. The entry covered the magazine’s 2010 publication cycle.
Marketing Writer Gaye Hill won a Gold award in the Opinion/Feature Writing category, for her Meredith Magazine article “Fun in the Sun.” The story explored the role of summer camps and enrichment activities in the education of children. The story included insight from child development faculty, education faculty and summer program coordinators at Meredith.
The Admissions and Financial Assistance websites won a Silver award in the Interactive Communications division. The winning project was a redesign meant to increase the College’s recruitment potential, improve the functionality and integrate more dynamic content into the site. The project, led by the Department of Marketing, was a partnership with the Office of Admissions, Office of Financial Assistance, and Horizon Productions.
The Sir Walter Raleigh Awards competition is open to public relations practitioners across North Carolina. Award entries are judge on objectives, method, creativity, budget and results.
