Meredith College Graduate Programs in Education is sponsoring the inaugural lecture in its Teaching Symposium Series: “Connecting Peadgogy, Practice and Perspectives.” Speaker John Hodge is president of Urban Learning and Leadership Center (ULLC), an organization focused on student achievement and reduction of the achievement gap. His career has been defined by assisting students and teachers overcome obstacles and achieve goals.
HIDING: a presentation by LiNK (Liberty in North Korea)

LiNK, a non-profit organization devoted to rescuing and resettling North Korean refugees, presents a documentary about the refugees' plight. To escape famine and oppression in their home country, hundreds of thousands of North Koreans have crossed the border into China, where they must live in hiding to avoid being repatriated to their home country and punished as "defectors." Many end up victims of human trafficking. Learn more about this important humanitarian issue and what you can do to help.
