Meredith’s strategic planning process will reach several key milestones this summer, thanks to the work of the Strategic Planning Steering Committee and the strategic planning goals and objectives “GO” Teams.
GO Teams are focused on areas already identified as central to the strategic plan: academic excellence, co-curricular collaboration, IT/infrastructure enhancement, enrollment clarifications, financial stability, and enhanced visibility for the College. The Strategic Plan Steering Committee, co-chaired by Vice President for Business & Finance Craig Barfield and Senior Vice President for Academic Administration Denise Rotondo, includes the co-chairs of each of the GO teams.
The Strategic Plan Steering Committee has been holding monthly meetings throughout the development of the plan. The group will also have a retreat July 18-19. The Steering Committee reports to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and to President Allen. ELT members are also serving as liaisons to each GO Team.
GO Teams are drafting initial reports that will share directions of interest based on Meredith’s strengths.
These reports are due on May 14, and will be shared with the Board of Trustees during the board’s retreat this summer.
According to President Jo Allen, these drafts are meant to give the board a sample of the strategic plan’s potential direction.
Each GO Team has made intentional efforts to gather input from the Meredith community. The team co-chairs are also working together to identify connectors that need to be established between each team’s area of focus.
Allen emphasized during the April 12 faculty meeting that the campus community would have opportunities in early Fall 2012 to share concerns, suggestions and ideas during a walkthrough of the strategic plan draft.
