Engaged with contemporary technology, Chris Cassidy creates with the intent to envision place while also envisioning the compromised devices of seeing place. The projects range from single-channel video work to more complicated works employing custom software and hardware. The exhibition includes an interactive composite video assembled from a collaborative project with participants from the Meredith College community.
“Visual Voices: The Language of Typography,”

An exhibition featuring the work of 14 Meredith art students and faculty member Dana Ezell Gay. The visual work within this group exhibition celebrates the formal visual properties of typography and how they influence & affect our perceptions; it explores the connections between form, content, and concept; and it offers the viewer both a unique view of the expressive nature of typography and of the many typographic systems at play.

April is sexual assault awareness month. The Diva Dash is a kick-off event to begin raising awareness about sexual assault on college campuses. The Diva Dash features a 25 yard run in heels. There will be trophies and other prizes for the top three finishers. After hearing the story of a sexual assault survivor and from some other community partners, the event closes with a walk around the Meredith Mile. There will be music, food, and fun. This event is organized by the students of Sociology 231and the Sociology/Criminology Club in partnership with Interact of Wake County. This event counts as a convocation.
The Toxic Closet, presented by Bernadette Barton, Ph.D.

Bernadette Barton, a member of the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminology at Morehead State University, will give a multi-media presentation titled “The Toxic Closet.” The talk is based on her forthcoming book, “Pray Away the Gay: The Extraordinary Lives of Bible Belt Gays.” Barton is also the author of “Stripped: Inside the Lives of Exotic Dancers.” This event counts as a convocation. This talk is sponsored by the Sociology Department, the Department of Religious and Ethical Studies, The Gullick Fund, The Diversity Council, and the Convocations Committee.
Daisy Dash 5K
Tuesday, April 10 walk/run begins at 5 p.m.
Meredith Track
On campus 5K walk/run sponsored by the Meredith’s Sports Science Association. The Daisy Dash is open to all Meredith community members, including faculty and staff.
Celebrating Student Achievement Day

A full day of events begins at 7:45 a.m. and includes a research conference, two awards ceremonies, dance and musical performances, art exhibits and panel discussions
