Meredith Chef Earns Prestigious Pro Chef Certification
From Culinary Institute Of America

ARAMARK/Meredith College Dining Chef Michelle Boyle has earned the prestigious ProChef Certification from The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), the world’s premier culinary college.

The CIA ProChef Certification program is a comprehensive professional development and culinary skills verification program which measures core culinary, managerial and financial acumen, including a chef’s skill in taste, proper cooking methods, authenticity, plating, use of all ingredients, hygiene and disposal of food waste.

“We are extremely proud of Chef Michelle Boyle who worked so hard to achieve CIA ProChef certification,” said Meredith College Food Service Director Scott Lamond.  “We look forward to her sharing her culinary expertise and skills with the entire Meredith College campus community.”

Chef Boyle’s completion of the CIA’s ProChef II is the culmination of a 10-week program that requires completion of online course work and multiple hours in the kitchen practicing and advancing her skills, leading to a four-day practical and written exam judged by Certified Master Chefs at the CIA’s Hyde Park, N.Y., campus.

ARAMARK worked closely with the CIA to develop a customized, hands-on course that reflects the real-world environment where executive chefs work on a daily basis, as well as the large-scale, diverse and innovative menus they often prepare.

"We are so pleased that our partnership with ARAMARK continues to grow,” said Brad Barnes, senior director of continuing education at The Culinary Institute of America. “The ProChef certification process provides these already creative chefs with the additional skills, training and tools needed to excel in their careers.”

ARAMARK’s partnership with the CIA is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to provide its culinary leaders with the training and tools needed to excel in their careers, and deliver outstanding outcomes for its clients and customers.
