Associate Professor of Dance Carol Finley’s dance, “Kitchen Stories,” was accepted for the 2012-13 North Carolina Dance Festival tour.
Professor Emeritus Carolyn Happer spoke at Duke University’s “Winning Women” event, February 23-26. Happer spoke on the topic, “The History of the Woman’s College, 1932-1972” and her exhibit on the Woman’s College was featured in the event celebrating women at Duke University.
Marketing Writer Gaye Hill recently served as a judge for the 2012 Virginia Press Women Communications Contest. She judged entries in the categories of feature stories and specialty articles. First place winners go on to the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest.
Director of Financial Assistance Kevin Michaelsen was quoted as an expert source in a US News and World Report story about changes to federal student loans for graduate students. The article was published on March 13, 2012.
Associate Professor of History Greg Vitarbo served as an expert in an Investors’ Business Daily article about leadership lessons in the life of Prussian military strategist Carl von Clausewitz. The article ran February 10, 2012.
Meredith Autism Program (MAP) Assistant Director Hillary Wilkinson was quoted in a feature article in The News & Observer’s Midtown Raleigh News. The article, “Learning to Say ‘I Love You,’” ran on March 11, 2012. The story focused MAP’s success, and described the method used in the program.
