Meredith College will open the 2012-2013 academic year with the annual Faculty/Staff Planning Conference, August 6-10, 2012. This event is designed to kick-off the year with opportunities for colleagues to engage in formal and informal gatherings. In response to your feedback on last year's event, the Faculty/Staff Planning Committee has developed a conference that includes campus-wide events, group activities, social gatherings and blocks of time for planning.

 

Overview of the Week
Monday is a planning day for many faculty. Department Heads and Program Coordinators are scheduled to meet with their deans and Senior Vice President Denise Rotondo at specific times on Monday morning.

 

Tuesday begins with a coffee and The State of the College Address by President Jo Allen. After a community lunch, all faculty and staff will gather in Jones Auditorium for an afternoon devoted to the College's Strategic Plan.

 

Wednesday morning begins with an Academic Administrators meeting. The afternoon session, Focus on Advising, is for all faculty and for staff involved in any aspect of advising students. This will be followed by concurrent sessions open to all faculty and staff. Participants may choose one session based on individual interests. 

 

Thursday includes sessions for freshmen advisors and summer reading program participants, the first faculty meeting and school meetings.

 

Friday is reserved for department meetings.

 

The full schedule for the conference is as follows. Locations and descriptions for some sessions are still being finalized. Look for updates later this summer.
