President Allen’s Reflects on First Year at Meredith

Jo Allen, ’80, completed her first year as president of Meredith College on June 30, 2012. Campus Connections asked Allen to look back at her accomplishments and special memories since she returned to her alma mater.

 

The first year has been “a whirlwind of meeting, greeting, connecting and learning” for Allen, who has spent much of this year getting to know Meredith alumnae, students, employees, donors and other Meredith supporters.

 

First Year Priorities
“One of my priorities during this year has been to get to know people in order to understand their hopes, fears and priorities. I want to learn how to motivate and inspire them in the ways they have motivated and inspired me.”

Meet the Alumnae Legacy and Presidential Scholars

Tia JoyceAmong the members of Meredith’s incoming Class of 2016 are three students who have earned the College’s top academic awards, the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship and the Meredith College Presidential Scholarship. These students are also part of the largest group of Honors students in Meredith’s history. more

First EREN Meeting Held at Meredith

Meredith College hosted the first all-members meeting of the Ecological Research as Education Network (EREN), June 27-29, 2012. The five-year EREN project was established in 2010 with a $498,980 grant from the National Science Foundation and represents a collaboration among 14 "founder" colleges.  more
