Participation in the Meredith Faculty and Staff Initiative

By Jean Gambrill

Why Your Gift to Meredith Makes a Big Impact
Your participation, rather than the amount, is what counts!  Our goal for the Faculty and Staff Initiative is 35% giving participation. Faculty and staff participation percentage is a consideration for corporations and foundations when deciding whether to award Meredith with funding for scholarships, professorships or major college projects. Join your colleagues and the call to Be One in a Million by visiting http://www.meredith.edu/giving/meredith-fund/faculty-staff.htm.

Faculty and Staff Donor List
In a future issue of “Campus Connections,” we would like to recognize our faculty and staff donors by name. No dollar amount or gift designation will be included. If you want your name to appear a certain way or you do not want it placed on this list, please send an email to gambrillj@meredith.edu with your request.

Denise ParkerDenise Parker—Winner of the Be One in a Million Golden Ticket
On Valentine’s Day, Student Ambassadors walked around campus distributing Be One in a Million chocolate bars to faculty and staff. At random, one chocolate bar had a golden ticket that the winner could redeem for a prize. Congratulations to Denise Parker in the Office of Admissions—You’re One in a Million!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are ways I can designate my gift?
Most faculty and staff choose to give to The Meredith Fund in order to make an unrestricted gift (a gift not restricted for a specific purpose) to provide support for campus priorities. Unrestricted gifts enable the College to fund areas of critical need and take advantage of unexpected opportunities that will benefit our students and the College. If you would prefer that your gift be designated for another fund/area, simply note your preference when making your gift.

I work here—why should I make a gift to my employer?
We each care about Meredith in our own way. Making a gift is another opportunity to demonstrate our own commitment to the importance of Meredith College for our students and our colleagues. Every gift helps the growth and development of the institution for current and future students who are seeking an extraordinary education.

What is payroll deduction?
Payroll deduction is one of the most convenient and popular ways to give to Meredith. It allows you to make an annual pledge by having a certain amount deducted each paycheck. When completing the payroll deduction form, you specify the amount you would like automatically deducted from each paycheck, the start date, and where your support should be designated. You can have an amount deducted until further notice or until a specific total has been reached.

Can I give my gift to more than one area?
Absolutely! When making your gift, identify the areas/fund and the amount you wish to give to each.
