Faculty/Staff Accomplishments
President Jo Allen and her co-author Margaret Hundleby earned the 2012 Technical and Scientific Communication Award for best original collection of essays in technical or scientific communication from the Conference on College Composition and Communication. The award was for Allen and Hundleby’s book “Assessment in Technical and Professional Communication.”
Assistant Athletics Director and Sports Information Director Greg Jarvis has been named to serve on the NCAA Convention-Planning Subcommittee.
Associate Director of Academic & Career Planning Jennifer Schum completed her Ph.D. in College Student Personnel at the University of Louisville in December 2011. She was recognized as the Outstanding Student in College Student Personnel and Outstanding Student in the College of Education and Human Development. This spring, Schum was elected to the Directorate of the Commission for Academic Support in Higher Education within American College Personnel Association (ACPA), and will be attending the national convention in March 2012.
Assistant Director of Student Leadership and Service Tabitha Underwood was a co-presenter for a workshop titled “Volunteer Development & Management: How to Get a Younger Generation Involved,” at the N.C. Main Street Conference, which was held January 25-27 in Clayton, N.C.
Assistant Professor of Music Jim Waddelow has been appointed the associate editor of the College Orchestra Director Association Peer Review Journal.
