Many prospective students and their families will be visiting Meredith’s campus as part of their college search process this semester. The Office of Admissions hosts a number of events and initiatives throughout the semester to connect these students with our exceptional group of faculty, staff, current students, alumnae and parents.
High school seniors will participate in a variety of on-campus events including Senior Visitation Day and Scholarship Weekend, as well as Rising to the Challenge, our Teaching Fellows recruitment program for regional finalists in the state scholarship program. All of our accepted students will be invited to campus on Saturday, April 2, for Experience Meredith!, where the Class of 2015 can get a head start on fall orientation by meeting potential classmates, professors and staff.
Spring is the time when high school juniors begin their college search process and our office is pleased to offer special programming for them. Junior Visitation Days will be held on Saturday, February 19, and Saturday, March 19. If you know a high school junior who is interested in Meredith, please encourage her to register, by visiting www.meredith.edu/admissions/visit/ or by calling 1-800-MEREDITH. High school juniors and their families will learn more about academic opportunities, campus life, and the admissions and financial assistance process.
The Admissions Office is hosting two Transfer and Non-Traditional Student Information Sessions this spring. These sessions enable students to hear from admissions and financial assistance professionals, as well as current students and recent alumnae. Prospective students receive step by step guidance on navigating the admissions and financial assistance process.
Furthermore, we offer information sessions and campus tours during the weekdays at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., and on select Saturdays during the academic school year at 10 a.m. Visit www.meredith.edu/admissions/visit/ or call 1-800-MEREDITH for more information.
Off campus, our staff continues to travel throughout the United States. Staff will attend national college fairs in Texas, Massachusetts, New York and Tennessee, just to name a few. Admissions counselors will also be participating in online college fairs for international students in Southeast Asia, Greater China and India to connect with students who cannot easily visit campus. Additionally, we’ll be hosting Think Meredith! Dinners for our accepted students for fall 2011 in various locations in state and out of state throughout the spring. These dinners allow students to meet other accepted students from their hometown, along with current Meredith students, alumnae and parents.
A new ad campaign is also underway in the local market. Click here for more information.
If you know a young woman who would be a good fit for Meredith, please take advantage of our Friends of Meredith College Application Fee Voucher. This voucher will waive a student’s $40 application fee. Our regular decision deadline is February 15, but we will continue to review applications as space is available in the freshman class.
