Meredith College will celebrate the inauguration of Dr. Jo Allen, ’80, as the College’s eighth president this spring.
The Inaugural Celebration will begin on the College’s Founders’ Day, February 27, 2012, and culminate with the Installation Service for President Allen on March 22 at 10 a.m. in Memorial Auditorium in downtown Raleigh.
Elizabeth Beam, ’72, and faculty members Professor of Human Environmental Sciences Deborah Tippett and Associate Professor of Mathematics Tim Hendrix are serving as the Inauguration Steering Committee Tri Chairs. Working with them will be the following steering committee members:
“Celebrating this event at Memorial Auditorium signals the desire to honor our roots in downtown Raleigh and to place Meredith in the heart of our home city,” said Board of Trustees Chair Nancy Cheek, ’63.
