Bernadette Barton, a member of the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Criminology at Morehead State University, will give a multi-media presentation titled “The Toxic Closet.” The talk is based on her forthcoming book, “Pray Away the Gay: The Extraordinary Lives of Bible Belt Gays.” Barton is also the author of “Stripped: Inside the Lives of Exotic Dancers.” This event counts as a convocation. This talk is sponsored by the Sociology Department, the Department of Religious and Ethical Studies, The Gullick Fund, The Diversity Council, and the Convocations Committee.

Carolinas Psychology Conference
Saturday, April 14
The Carolinas Psychology Conference is a meeting of undergraduate students in psychology and related fields. Students travel from across the Southeast to attend the conference events and to present papers. The conference, which began in 1976, is one of the longest-running undergraduate conferences in the nation. Approximately 300 people are expected to attend, with 84 presentations by students from 22 different colleges and universities representing North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, and Maryland.
