CALLING FOR CULTURAL CHANGE: UNDERSTANDING AND PREVENTING RAPE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT
Juliette Grimmett, MPH, presenter
Sadly, incidents of rape and sexual assault in the United States have reached epidemic proportions. According to the Center for Disease Control, one in four women have experienced rape or attempted rape during college, most often by someone they knew. True prevention requires cultural change. Juliette will share her personal story of survival as a way to discuss supporting survivors and to examine how changes in perception, language and behavior can help end the violence.
ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED FOR FRESHMEN.
ALL STUDENTS ARE INVITED!
Full attendance at this presentation qualifies as an Academic/Cultural Event in General Education.
