With a highly personalized learning environment, students gain leadership skills through direct experience and learn the skills to solve problems through teamwork. In addition to the core curriculum, specific tracks within the business administration major empower students to dive deeper into their academic interests in one of three areas of business administration – accounting, human resource management, and marketing.

Business Administration major and Broyhill Business Fellow, Grace Olufemi-Ajayi, found a welcoming environment at Meredith that let her explore her interests and major. As a student-athlete, she learned that discipline, selflessness, and being part of a team that depended on her were always a win during her college career.

With support from Meredith faculty and staff, Business Administration major Emma Bailey made the most of experiential learning opportunities including study abroad and an impressive internship. She worked as a social media marketing intern at Liberare, an adaptive clothing brand with a global presence. Along the way, she also established a blog focused on disability lifestyle and disability travel.

At Meredith College, Sonia Chrostowski was able to learn in a supportive classroom environment where her thoughts and opinions were valued. As a Business major and Broyhill Fellow, she also gained skills in marketing and connections with faculty that have set her on a path to success.

Careers in Business Administration

A business administration major is prepared for various fields such as human resource management, sales and marketing, banking, international business, management of nonprofit agencies and government service, or owning a business.

Fashion design major, Tiani Hinnant, ’24, has taken advantage of various opportunities during her time at Meredith College to help her become a strong leader.

Jillian Jackson, ’25, chose Meredith because of the empowerment she felt visiting campus as a high schooler. As a student, the resources, students, and faculty at Meredith have provided her with a strong college experience that is preparing her for the future.

Business Administration News

In the 2022-23 Faculty Distinguished Lecture, Professor of Finance Bing Yu presented “Impact Investing: Driving Capitalists to Do Good While Doing Well.” The lecture was held on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 7 p.m., in Jones Auditorium.
