BIOLOGY 358 AQUATIC FIELD STUDIES

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  This course provides experience in the techniques required for research in aquatic environments.  Aspects of organism identification, habitat classification, water chemistry, and sampling technique will be included.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES:  Students will:

  • Identify and explore diverse aquatic environments.
  • Analyze relationships of organisms to environmental parameters.
  • Interpret current research in aquatic ecology.
  • Develop experimental design to explore aspects of aquatic ecology.
  • Analyze and present data relating to stream or lake ecosystems.
  • Get wet.
